Since 1948, Mercymount has graduated over 2000 students. Many more are part of the Mercymount community, having attended but not graduated from the school. We attempt to maintain strong ties with our valued alumni, keeping in touch with them several per year with our newsletter. Alumni are encouraged to submit messages to classmates and teachers, and share news of their own lives which will be printed in the newsletter.

Alumni are important financial supporters of their alma mater through the Annual Fund and other fundraising efforts, including the Bid for Kids Auction. We plan various events for alumni to return to Mercymount including the Yearbook Signing Party, Pot of Gold Alumni Basketball Games, the Young Alumni Reunions and the Legacy Luncheons.

We are always updating our records and ask that all of our alumni contact us with changes in address. We also appreciate any corrections / additions of current contact information for classmates, relatives and friends within the Mercymount community.

We are pleased to be working with the Diocese of Providence as part of the Catholic Alumni Partnership.  Their assistance and support has resulted in updated contact information for many Mercymount alumni.  We will continue to work with them to assure database integrity as well as supporting other Catholic elementary schools throughout Rhode Island, both open and closed.  It is the goal to make contact with as many former students as possible to re-engage alumni in the current school community from which your foundation was laid in the Catholic educational tradition.

The Wilson Fund has set up a national website dedicated to alumni of Catholic elementary schools from the Diocese of Providence, and three other dioceses in the country.  Click on the link to find more information:

Mercymount will begin building an email database to initiate contact electronically with our valued alumni.  If you would like to join our MCDS Alumni Distribution List, please contact The Director of Advancement at with your name, graduation year or years of attendance and current email address.
