AfterCare

Mercymount’s AfterCare Program is designed to allow our students in Pre-K to Grade 8 to remain in a familiar, safe and child-friendly environment. AfterCare can be utilized on a regular basis or on an as needed basis. Let your child’s teacher know on the days they will be attending. Students come to AfterCare at the end of the school day, or following an after-school activity.

PROCARE
Mercymount utilizes the ProCare app to manage the AfterCare program. If you are new to After Care, you can register Mercymount Procare. When registering, please note any food allergies, medication needs and who is authorized to pick up your child.

AFTER CARE STAFF
AfterCare is staffed by teachers, school personnel, and former Mercymount students. If you need to discuss a matter unrelated to AfterCare with a teacher or staff member that is currently working, please contact that person at another time as the priority of all After Care staff is supervision of the children in our care.

PICKUP
Children can be picked up at the cafeteria door by the playground. Children MUST be picked up by 6:00 p.m. or parents will incur a late charge of $1 per minute. Please note that consistent tardiness may warrant termination of AfterCare.
When registering in ProCare, please note all individuals authorized to pick up your child. You will be asked to show photo identification when picking up your child. Please call or email the Office, message AfterCare directly using the ProCare app, or send a note to your child’s teacher should you have a last minute change in pick up instructions.

ELECTRONICS
Only school-approved electronic devices are allowed at AfterCare. See the handbooks section on Electronic Policy for more information.

HOMEWORK
AfterCare staff are available to assist with homework but ultimately, it is the responsibility of the parent to check homework for completeness and accuracy. Students are responsible for bringing all necessary materials with them. Students are not allowed to return to classrooms or lockers during AfterCare.

APPROPRIATE DRESS
Please be sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather as children will spend time outdoors as often as possible. At the discretion of the teachers, students without proper attire may not be allowed out.
