All grades take part in special projects throughout the year. The first graders learn about the 50 states and finish off that unit with “Sing Across America. The second graders learn special songs and invite their grandparents to school for breakfast and a performance. The third graders learn different types of writing throughout the year. They complete their poetry unit with a “Poetry Cafe” where they can share their poems with their classmates and families. The fourth graders do a research project on one of the states and present their findings to other members of the school and their parents. Some students even include a special treat that originates in the state they researched. The fifth graders also do multiple research projects. The final research project in the spring includes working in the Homeroom and in the Library to research a famous individual from history. They present their findings on Wax Museum Day. .
